My Little Pony: Tides of Shadow (Script)

(Brief Description: Near a bluff and in the courtyard in front of an abandoned large old stone castle during the night.  A large fire burns in front of a worn down fountain and two ponies and a minotaur walk out in front of the fire, waiting...)

(Enter Star Song, Trixie and Ulysses)

(Trixie looks at Star Song nervously as she tries to say something to her.)

Trixie: (In a low shaking tone) Mistress... (Star turns to her with her eyebrows raised) The great and powerfu... (stutters) I know that this is important to you... and I do not mean to insult... but what...
(pause)
What makes you think they'll come?

(Star Song takes a deep breath and meets Trixie's stare with pitying eyes)

Star Song: (softly) My dear apprentice, they will come.  After all... such an invite is... just too good to pass up.

Ulysses: (In a low booming tone) So don't be such a whiny little baby!

Star Song: (In a sharp tone) Quiet, Ulysses!  

(She looks on, seeing that what she had waited for as arrived)

Our guests have arrived...

(Enter Sombre, Chrysalis, Gilda and Scorpan)

(regaining her composure) So, I see you've all received my... summons.

Chrysalis: (interrupting) Don't be coy... Star Song, was it?  The only reason I'm here is because we changlings can sense you from miles away.  I couldn't care less for the others... and I doubt they have the capacity to understand anyways.

Gilda: (bitterly) Hey! I got... capacity.

Scorpan: (low tone) Don't make me crush you, bug queen.  Your power is nothing compared to my own.

Chrysalis: I'm not an insect, I'm a changling, you overgrown lizard...

Sombre: idiots...

Star Song: (Sharply) Enough!  I didn't set up this meeting to foal-sit you all!

Gilda: (mockingly) Yeah! Real mature, guys!

(Star Song gives Gilda a sharp glance)

Star Song: Now back to the topic at hoof...
(Pause)
I know you all are familiar with Princess Celestia and her beloved 'Elements of Harmony'?

(Chrysalis, Vexxas and Scorpan make bitter, disgruntled faces)

(She begins to trot around) And of their powers... a seemingly unstoppable force of harmony that exceeds the power that each and everyone of you has...

(She takes a moment to compose her words before suddenly stopping) At least alone...

(Pause)

...that's right; divided you are weak... nothing.  
But what if, I told you there was another way?

(Chrysalis and Sombre raise their eyebrows in interest, while Scropan turns away... unimpressed.)

What if... I told you I not only have the power to challenge the elements and Celestia, but makes them pale in comparison?
(A smile starts to twist up her face)
...And what if I said... it was yours for the taking?

(All four guest look at each other, confused)

(Turning to Scorpan) Scorpan... the great and powerful dragon... I've heard much about you... about the great wrong that was committed against you.  And, as you have tried to right this wrong... you were punished for it.

Scorpan: (Shocked) How do you...

Star Song: (Interrupting) Trust me, I have been doing my... 'homework'.

(Scorpan takes a deep breath)

Scorpan: (firmly)  I couldn't care less about what your plotting.
(He sighs)  
All I care about is taking back something that's very important to me...

Star Song: Aye, I know...
(Pause)
I have the power to help you, Dragon.  All I need is for you to lend me your strength... and I promise you, those who have stood in the way will feel your wrath soon enough.  

(She and the dragon smile at each other, then turns and bows to Sombre and Chrysalis)

Your Majesties... long have you and your subjects been 'misunderstood'... shunned and feared by those who cannot comprehend the true beauty of what you are.

(Chrysalis and Vexxas look at each other questioningly.)

You both have sought the power to strengthen your peoples... and now it stands before you.  Will you accept?

Chrysalis: As long as there is plenty of love for my subjects to consume.

Star Song: (confidently) Of course! You changlings will have all of the love you desire...

Vexxas: (interrupting)...and as long as there is power for us to reclaim my birthright!

Star Song: Yes, shadow king... you will get your dues... and so much more.  All you two need to do is lend me your aid...

(Sombre and Chrysalis look at each other again)

Sombre: Very well... you have our... support.

Chrysalis: (smirking) We shall see where your... 'plan' goes.

Star Song: (Smiling) Good. (Turns to Gilda) Ah, alas! Dear sweet griffon... so confused... so out of place... tell me, do you feel...
(Places her hooves on her shoulder)
…lost?

(Gilda glares at Star Song... annoyed that she isn't being more direct)

Gilda: (bitterly) Yeah.  What's it to ya?

Star Song: What's it to me? Why... it means a lot! I've been watching you too, griffon... how you've been training... trying to get other to understand your way of things...
(Pause)
And how they've been turning away...

(She smirks wickedly before continuing)

...in fear.

(Gilda jumps away)

Gilda: (angrily) That's NONE of your business!

(Star Song looks at her softly and sympathetically)

Star Song: (In a low calm tone) It's alright. (lays a soft hoof on her side) I've been where you are... and had to make some realizations of my own.  It was hard for me... but it has brought me to all of this... And all I am more then happy to show you what I have learned.  
(She strokes the feathers of her wings)
Consider it a gift from one outcast to another...

Gilda: (sigh) fine... I'll tag along.

Star Song: Good... good... I promise it will be... fun.

Gilda: (Warning) it better be.

Star Song: Excellent!
(She trots in the center of all four guests)
Hear me, now!
Long have we all struggled against the existence of harmony in this world... and long have we suffered under its rule... but a new day is dawning and it will be WE, not THEM, who will rule when it comes!

(Star Song springs into the air and, with a powerful spell cast from her horn, she suddenly sports two large dragon wings and hovers in the air.  Everypony is stunned... not only by the wings, but by the shear aura of her power.)

For years I have trained for such a moment... perfecting my magic to levels that, for so long, were considered inconceivable! But here I am! The testament of the powers that have been shunned in fear by everypony!

Join me... and together, we shall bring all of Equestria and the Princesses TO THEIR KNEES!

(In a throng of emotion, everyone in the group applauds the unicorn as the wings fade from her and lands softly next to her apprentice.)

Star Song: Trixie, Ulysses... fill them in on what they will be doing.

Trixie: (obediently) Of course, mistress.

Ulysses: (arrogantly) You sure you wanna waste time on these rejects, boss?

Star Song: (confidently) They have a 'purpose'... you will see.

(Ulysses snorts)

Ulysses: Fine... but I don't see the point...

(Ulysses and Trixie go over to the others and begin filling them in on the details... leaving Star Song all alone.  She pulls out a crystal ball and leans in close to it.)

Star Song: (in a faint whisper) Isn't it glorious?

(From the ball, a low, dark voice sounds from within.)

Shadowy Voice: Yes... yes...  I knew you would succeed.  After all... your charms are one of your greatest gifts.

Star Song: (snickers) It is impressive, isn't it?

Shadowy Voice: More than impressive... you have done well.

Star Song: Yes... Soon, all of Equestria will fall... Celestia will be brought down... and then... and only then... will this world will be...

(Realizing what Star Song was going to say, the voice copies her word for word)
